As you may already know, I’m a big proponent of eating as organically as possible.  The following list of produce items came from a friend who does the same.  Basically, it’s a list of the items one should always buy organically and then another list of produce that you can “get by with” buying non-organically and not suffer too much.  As fresh produce is becoming more and more in season, this is an easy list to keep with you on grocery runs.

 

The Dirty Dozen:  Apples, celery, strawberries, peaches, spinach, nectarines (imported), grapes (imported), sweet bell peppers, potatoes, blueberries, lettuce and any greens.

 

The Clean 15:  Onions, sweet corn, pineapples, avocados, asparagus, sweetpeas, mangos, eggplant, cantaloupe (domestic), kiwi, cabbbage, watermelon, sweet potatoes, grapefruit & mushrooms.
